A mineral extract drawn from a Romanian lake, in clinical use since 1969, patented in 1978, and formulated into two creams — is coming to the United States. The first allocation will be small, numbered, and offered to the list before anyone else.
No noise. One letter when the doors open.

The signature on the jar belongs to the man who made the extract possible.
Dr. Ștefan Ionescu-Călinești spent his career studying the sediment of Balta Albă, a saline lake in eastern Romania where organic matter has settled, undisturbed and without oxygen, for thousands of years.
In April 1975 he filed, with three colleagues, a method for drawing the active fraction out of that sediment and drying it into a fine, stable powder. The patent was granted in March 1978. Fifty years later, the method has not fundamentally changed.

Issued by the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania. The first describes how the extract is made. Two more are cosmetic formulations built on it — which is to say Pell Amar was a beauty house from the beginning.
Romanian Original Product

Professional
Day Cream
Light enough to disappear in seconds, and to sit flat beneath makeup without pilling. Formulated with Peat Extract, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and coenzyme Q10.

Professional
Night Cream
Denser, sealing, and carrying a higher extract load alongside Vitamin A, argan and almond oils. A little goes considerably further than you expect.

Two jars. Nothing else.
The full formula lives in two jars — nothing poured, nothing diluted, nothing added to stretch a shelf life. Everything else in the frame is simply how it lives on a counter.

The formula has a paper trail.
A clinical note from 1969. A patent granted in 1978. A congress in San Francisco in 1977. We keep it close, the way you’d keep any reference you trust — it’s reproduced in full in the archive.
Everyone selling mineral skincare is selling mud. This is what remains once the mud is removed.
A mask works by sitting on the skin and drying. That effect ends the moment you rinse. Atomization solved a different problem — separating the active fraction of the sediment from the clay and grit that carry it, then spray-drying the concentrate into a stable powder.
That single step is what allows the material to be formulated into a cream you leave on, rather than a treatment you wash away. On an ingredient list, it appears as Peat Extract.
Two minutes, twice a day.
No order to memorise. Both creams go on last, over anything else you already use.

Be first through the door.
The first allocation opens to the list before it opens to anyone. Members also receive the archive as it grows — documents, photographs, and the occasional letter from the house.

Before the launch.
What is sapropelic sediment?
Sediment formed at the bottom of still, oxygen-poor water over thousands of years, as organic material breaks down slowly rather than rotting away. It ends up dense in minerals, trace elements and organic compounds. Ours comes from Balta Albă, a saline lake in Buzău county, eastern Romania.
How does this differ from Dead Sea mud products?
Those are usually the sediment itself, applied and rinsed. Ours is an extract — the active fraction drawn out of the sediment and spray-dried into a powder that can be formulated into a leave-on cream. A different material and a different category.
How old is the brand?
The preparation entered clinical use in Romania in 1969. The extraction method was filed in 1975 and granted in 1978. Cosmetic formulations built on the extract were patented in 1977 with the Miraj cosmetics works in Bucharest and sold under the Pell Amar name as beauty products. Pellamar Professional is the line developed for the United States. The documents are reproduced in our archive.
When does it launch, and what will it cost?
The first allocation opens soon, to the private list first. Pricing will be announced to the list before the doors open — join above and you will hear it before anyone else.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Patch test on your inner forearm for twenty-four hours before first use. Both formulas contain botanical extracts, including chamomile and, in the Night Cream, lavender and arnica. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, speak to your dermatologist before adding anything to your routine.
How long until I see something?
Hydration is immediate. Changes in how texture, tone and fine lines look take four to eight weeks of consistent twice-daily use. That is why the return window will be sixty days rather than thirty.
